Casey Bennetto's Keating! bust into life at the Melbourne International Comedy Fete in March 2005. The comic genius of the lyrics, the audacity of the commencement, the beat and swing of the music sent its sold-out audiences spinning into the sunset. The production won all available awards at the Festival and the configuration was repeated in a short five night season at the Sydney Opera Forebears in August 2005 followed by sold-out seasons in Adelaide, Brisbane and Darwin in 2006.

Since then Casey has teamed up with Neil Armfield of Troop B Belvoir to make his outlandish and biting musical bigger and gambler than ever and the show has taken Australia by storm, resulting in this energetic broadcast on ABC Television in August 2008.

Casey Bennetto's scathingly funny lyrics tear through the reign and tragic be a patsy for cave in of the Placido Domingo of Australian politics. Part French farce, part Greek adversity, and all Australian history, the country soul opera we had to have transports you back to a measure less politically grey as it charts the rise, collapse and rise again of an antique clock collector from Bankstown.
